ワイングラスを全て空けた長女は、軽く服を着替えながら優雅に執事の案内を受け、客を迎える準備のために準備場所へ足を運んだ。その後を影のように執事が上手に足音を合わせ、彼女が飲み終えたグラスを自然に手に取り、客名簿を持って彼女に付き従った。
「今日はみんなを満足させる夜になることを願うだけだよ…」
と独り言を呟きながら、彼女は悠然と歩みを進めた。屋敷の天井に張られたガラスに反射する月明かりが、彼女の孤高な姿を静かに照らし出し、蜘蛛の巣が織りなす幻想的な影がその輪郭をさらに際立たせていた。準備部屋に到着すると、執事は客名簿を手に持ったまま、静かにドアを閉めた。長女は鏡の前に立ち、新たなドレスに袖を通しながら、ふと窓の外を眺めた。遠くで馬車の音が聞こえ始め、客たちの到着が近づいている気配がした。
「楽しみだね…でも、期待が大きすぎるのも厄介かも…」
彼女の声は低く、どこか自嘲気味に響いた。執事は一礼し、
「お嬢様、すべてお任せください」
と静かに応じた。その瞬間、廊下からかすかな足音が近づき、ドアがそっとノックされた。長女は微笑みを浮かべ、執事に向かって軽く顎を振った。夜の幕が上がり、彼女の瞳に宿る光は、満足させるだけでなく、何かを試すような鋭さを含んでいた。月明かりが再び彼女を照らし、屋敷全体が静かな期待に包まれた。

Having emptied all the wine glasses, the eldest daughter gracefully accepted the butler's guidance, lightly changing her attire as she headed to the preparation room to ready herself for the guests. The butler followed like a shadow, skillfully matching her steps, naturally taking the empty glasses before trailing her with the guest list in hand.
“I can only hope this will be a night that satisfies everyone…”
she murmured to herself, walking with unhurried elegance. The moonlight reflecting off the glass ceiling was the only thing illuminating her solitary figure, the spiderwebs casting a fantastical shadow that accentuated her silhouette.Upon arriving at the preparation room, the butler quietly closed the door while holding the guest list. Standing before the mirror, the young lady slipped into a new dress, her gaze drifting to the window. The faint sound of a carriage approached from afar, signaling the nearing arrival of the guests.
“I’m looking forward to it… though too much expectation might be troublesome…”
Her voice was low, tinged with a hint of self-mockery. The butler bowed and replied softly,
“My lady, leave everything to me.”
At that moment, a faint sound of footsteps echoed from the corridor, followed by a gentle knock on the door. The young lady smiled and gave a slight nod to the butler. As the night’s curtain rose, the light in her eyes carried not just the intent to satisfy, but a sharp edge as if testing something. The moonlight illuminated her once more, enveloping the entire mansion in a quiet air of anticipation.

🟡岐阜県 白川郷🟡
岐阜県白川郷は、飛騨地方の山間部に位置する合掌造りの集落で、1995年に「白川郷・五箇山の合掌造り集落」としてユネスコ世界文化遺産に登録されました。

急勾配の茅葺き屋根が特徴の合掌造りは、豪雪地帯での生活に適応した独特の建築様式で、家族や地域が協力して屋根の葺き替えを行う伝統が今も残っています。

特に荻町地区には約110棟の合掌家屋が現存し、和田家や長瀬家などの見学可能な古民家もあります。

四季折々の風景が美しく、特に冬の雪景色とライトアップは圧巻。

観光地として人気ですが、住民の生活の場でもあるため、マナーを守った訪問が求められます。

🟡 Shirakawa-go, Gifu Prefecture 🟡

Shirakawa-go, located in the mountainous region of Hida in Gifu Prefecture, is a village famous for its traditional gassho-zukuri houses. In 1995, it was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site as part of the “Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama.”

The steeply pitched thatched roofs of the gassho-zukuri style are uniquely designed to withstand heavy snowfall, reflecting an architectural tradition adapted to life in a harsh winter climate. Even today, families and communities continue the custom of working together to re-thatch the roofs.

In particular, the Ogimachi district preserves around 110 gassho-zukuri houses, including historic residences such as the Wada House and Nagase House, which are open to visitors.

The scenery changes beautifully with each season, but the winter landscape—especially when illuminated at night—is truly breathtaking.

Although Shirakawa-go is a popular tourist destination, it remains a living community, so visitors are asked to respect local manners and traditions during their stay.
