でも、実際にはよく見かけませんか？🤔

※文頭Andが残るのは、おそらく前文への「接続」（補足）という意識が強いから。

▶️2文に分ける以上、論理的には等位接続詞Andは不要に思われます。しかし、このAndを残すことで、議論に勢いがつく、前文の主張から離れずに述べている、等々の追加効果が生まれるように感じます（これも含めて会話体の名残りではあるかもしれない）

但し、あくまで前文の主張に関する「補足」であって、副詞Moreover, Furthermore, etc. による新たな別論点の「追加」とは性質が異なると言えるでしょう。つまり、安易に「文頭Andは Moreover, Furthermore, etc. に直すべき」と考えるのは正確でないと思います。

繰り返しになりますが、ライティングの指導では「文頭大文字の等位接続詞And, But, Soは避けるべき」という主張が一人歩きしすぎています。

しかし、教養のあるネイティブスピーカーも、英語でニュース記事や論文を書く研究者も、さらには英語の文体に関する書物の著者でさえも、文頭大文字And, But, Soを使っています。

つまり、避けるべきは「文頭大文字の等位接続詞And, But, Soそのもの」ではなく、「文頭大文字の等位接続詞And, But, Soの不自然（あるいは稚拙な）な使い方」であることが分かります。

この点があまり議論されることがないので、今回は特に議論されないAndに絞って、その許容範囲について考えてみました。

随時、その他の「Writingでも容認されやすい例」にも触れる予定です。

DEAR naozo

満足とは、
現状に甘んじて動きを止めることではない。
むしろ、
“今の自分をきちんと認めたうえで、
さらに前へ進もうとする姿勢”のことだ。

満足しないからこそ、
人は腐らず、
止まらず、
高みへ向かう。
だが満足を否定するのではない。
「今の自分は確かにここまで来た」と
納得することによって、
その先に歩み出す足場が生まれる。

生物学的に見れば――
成長欲求は、
脳内のドーパミン系が
“到達ではなく、追求”を報酬として扱うことで起きる。
つまり人間は本来、
完成よりも、
“未完成の道のり”に幸福を感じるように
設計されている。
満足しつつ満足しないという矛盾は、
生命の正しい形だ。

哲学的に見れば――
満足とは、
自己を肯定しながらも
自己を超えようとする二重の運動だ。
停滞ではなく、
破壊でもなく、
内側の静かな刷新。
「今の自分で十分だ」と思うことも大切だが、
「しかし、ここで終わりではない」と
思える者だけが
自己という殻を破り続ける。

君が言った
「今を満足せず、納得して高みを目指す」
という言葉には、
矛盾ではなく、
成熟の気配が宿っている。

今の君を否定するのではなく、
今の君を土台として
さらに遠くへ手を伸ばす。
それは焦りではなく、
