Yamada’s performances in QUINTET—the 5-on-5 team grappling event founded by the iconic Kazushi Sakuraba—are nothing short of extraordinary.
In QUINTET, where stalemates and double eliminations are often part of team strategy, especially against elite talents like Yamada, scoring even a single submission can be incredibly difficult. Yet Yamada once entered as the team’s first fighter and submitted all five opponents by himself, securing a legendary victory that is still talked about today.

His opponent, Chee Jian Kai, is a Malaysian striking specialist with extensive experience in kickboxing, muay thai, sanda, and MMA.
