【主な出来事】

✦『女性に対する暴力撤廃の国際デー』（International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women）は、毎年11月25日に定められた国際デーである。

1960年11月25日、ドミニカ共和国で独裁政治への反対運動をおこなっていたミラバル姉妹が政府によって暗殺された。

この事件をきっかけに女性に対する暴力が強く意識され、1997年12月17日、国連総会において毎年11月25日を「女性に対する暴力撤廃の国際デー」とする採択がなされた。
この国際デーの目的は、女性・女児へ対するあらゆる暴力の撤廃である。制定に先んじた1993年12月20日、国連は女性が人権を完全かつ対等に享受できる行動を優先するよう強調している。

✦『ハイビジョンの日』
1987年（昭和62年）に旧郵政省（現・総務省）とNHKによって制定されました。

目的は、倭国発の高精細映像技術「ハイビジョン（Hi-Vision）」の普及と映像文化の発展を図ることです。

日付の由来は、アナログ・ハイビジョン放送の走査線数が1,125本であることから「1125＝11月25日」としたものです。
