国際芸術祭「あいち2025」参加アーティストの札本彩子さんの展示の様子をお届けします。
愛知芸術文化センター地下2階に作品を展示しています。
 
札本彩子さんは、食と社会の関係をテーマに食品や食材を模した立体作品を手がけ、食にまつわる欲望や問題を表現しています。今回注目したのは牛肉で、普段見過ごされがちな「牛肉はもともと一頭の牛の一部であり、それが解体され食材になる過程」に焦点を当てています。牧場や食肉処理場への取材や、映画『いのちの食べかた』（2005年）から着想を得て、食肉になる前の状態への想像力の回復を試みています。《ステーキ岩》の作品は、道端でふと金網跡のついたモルタルがステーキ肉に見えたという自身の経験に基づいて制作されました。異なる文脈でも食への知覚が刺激されることを示唆しています。牛の首、枝肉、食卓に並ぶ肉というプロセスを辿り、動物から食物へのあわいに鑑賞者の意識を向けています。

We are pleased to share the exhibition of Fudamoto Ayako, a participating artist in Aichi Triennale 2025. Her works are currently on display on the second basement floor of the Aichi Arts Center.
Fudamoto Ayako creates three-dimensional works that replicate food and ingredients, exploring the relationship between food and society. Her works vividly express human desires and issues surrounding food. This time, her focus is on beef—specifically, the often-overlooked fact that beef is originally part of a whole cow, which is then dismantled and transformed into food. Drawing inspiration from visits to ranches and meat processing plants, as well as the documentary film “Our Daily Bread” (2005), she attempts to restore our imagination of the state before meat becomes food. One of her works, “Steak Rocks,” is based on her experience of suddenly perceiving mortar with wire mesh marks on a roadside as resembling steak meat, suggesting that our perception of food can be triggered in unexpected contexts. By tracing the process from a cow’s head to carcass to the meat dishes on our tables, Fudamoto invites viewers to reflect on the subtle boundary between animal and food.
